        What Lengths Am I Willing To Go To In Order To Do Right By Every Child? In order to do right by every child, teachers must educate themselves of different cultures and values and be able to step out of their comfort zone to make sure they are correct with their teaching and how they act in the classroom to make students of different cultures and background comfortable in the classroom. As an educator it is important to take time to consider students identities and be able to create a culturally responsive classroom environment. Equity in the classroom is important to ensure everyone gets equal opportunities whatever the circumstances are for each student.                      How Does Gender Affect The Teaching Profession?      Today as we walk through halls of schools K-12th grade, we typically see female educators. Women have historically been known to fill the role of an educator, but now, there has been an increase in male educators within schools. More middle school to high school level, you will see male teachers, yet in all levels of education it is not rare to see a male hold an assistant principal or principal position, even most school board positions are filled by men. At times, men being in higher positions than women in the eduction system can affect the way the educators interact with the students and how the materials are taught. Marginalized Students in Public Schools

                              Marginalized Students in Public Schools       When discussing the topic of marginalized students, we mean students who are defined by their race, gender, geographical location, etc. (Module 2 Introduction) These students are placed in the margins or the outside of the “normal” social and educational hierarchy. Often, we find students of the same gender, race, geographical location, etc. being friends with one another instead of intertwining with the other students that may be different than them. Whether it be a fear of judgment or just different values or hobbies, these students may not cross paths even though they attend the same public school and receive the same education.
